NewZee Premium Mānuka Honey is sourced directly from New Zealand's heartland, the natural environment where honey bees meet the unique mānuka flower. Together they produce a very special honey with scientifically proven anti-bacterial properties known as the Unique Mānuka Factor - UMF™.
You won't find any blended or multifloral honeys here. Just pure, unadultarated New Zealand mānuka honey. Every batch is independently lab-tested for quality and purity, then given it's UMF™ rating so you can be sure it is authentic New Zealand mānuka honey.

About the Mānuka Bush
Leptospermum scoparium
Mānuka [ mā·nu·ka ] honey comes only from nectar found in the flower of the mānuka bush, Leptospermum scoparium, a plant that is endemic to New Zealand.
This is the source of the special antibacterial properties known as the "Unique Mānuka Factor" (UMF®), first discovered in 1982 by Dr Peter Molan, then professor of Biological Sciences at Waikato University, New Zealand.
The Mānuka honey process, from flower to jar
1. Cultivating the Mānuka Bush
Most of our honey is harvested from farms that we own, where we plant selectively bred Mānuka cultivars for high performance. We survey the land to ensure it has the optimal Mānuka conditions and we have been planting the Mānuka bush for over a decade to improve honey quality.
2. Positioning the Hives
To achieve maximum purity our hives are only placed when the Mānuka is flowering. We work hard to ensure all hives are healthy and happy with hundreds of thousands of bees in each hive to gather the precious resource.
3. Extracting the Honey
At harvest time the honey is carefully extracted from each hive and stored in a warm environment. Centrifugal spinners separate the honey from the comb and the honey is then passed through a 200micron filter to remove any remaining wax or other contaminants.
4. Packing and Testing
Next, we send the honey to a packing plant where it is creamed to achieve that silky, melt-in-your-mouth texture we all love. A sample of each batch is sent to labs for testing and verification where it is given it's UMF™ grade.
